Washington, DC — The League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC), the nation's oldest and largest Latino civil rights organization, is deeply concerned by recent remarks made by former President Donald Trump regarding migrants seeking asylum in the United States. In a disturbing interview with the National Pulse, Trump employed rhetoric reminiscent of Adolf Hitler's Nazi regime, making sweeping generalizations about migrants and resorting to inflammatory language.

Trump's comments during the interview are a cause for serious concern. He stated, "Nobody has any idea where these people are coming from, and we know they come from prisons. We know they come from mental institutions and insane asylums. We know they're terrorists. Nobody has ever seen anything like what we're witnessing right now. It is a very sad thing for our country. It's poisoning the blood of our country."

LULAC National President Domingo Garcia alerted all Americans, stating, "LULAC warns every American that Donald Trump's words and actions unleash unprecedented hatred towards desperate, mostly Latino asylum seekers he is targeting for political gain. LULAC holds Trump and his supporters personally responsible for the consequences of his words and actions. Using the words 'blood poisoning' is deliberately calculated to create fear and scapegoat Christian refugees. His use of Nazi code speak is gutter politics unworthy of a presidential candidate."

With their overtly divisive and prejudiced undertones, Trump's words bear an alarming resemblance to the phrasing used by Adolf Hitler during Germany's Third Reich, where he accused Jewish people and migrants of 'causing a blood poisoning' of Germany. Such language is not only dangerous but also morally reprehensible.

LULAC National Vice-President Ray Mancera added, "LULAC is still on the front line of the fight for lawful immigration, and we vehemently oppose Mr. Trump's incendiary language. Mexicanos are the largest Latino community in the U.S., adding $2 trillion to the nation's economy. We are overrepresented in every critical category of our nation's labor force: construction, agriculture, manufacturing, and service industries. Yet, even in the face of these facts, Trump lies and refers to these hard-working men and women as poisoning America's blood — criminals, mentally insane, and even terrorists! LULAC tells Mr. Trump: Stop the lies. Stop trying to divide our country again, and for heaven's sake, stop your hate against our people."

LULAC continues to advocate for humane and fair immigration policies that respect the dignity and rights of all individuals. Our organization fights discrimination, prejudice, and harmful rhetoric against the Hispanic and Latino communities. We call on all Americans to reject such divisive language and support a just and inclusive society.
